Broiled shrimp with garlic parsley butter sauce are simple and delicious. The dish can be be prepared in under 30 minutes. The shrimp are cooked in a garlic and parsley butter in the oven, and then coated with breadcrumbs and toasted to get a crispy top. This same basic recipe can be applied to other shellfish, like scallops, or escargot.
Parsley Garlic Butter
Parsley garlic butter is delicious. It goes well with many proteins, from fish to chicken, and it’s always a crowd pleaser.
This recipe makes a simple version of this sauce. Melt the butter, slice the garlic very thin, and chop fresh parsley. These ingredients are combined, and the shrimp are cooked in this garlic herb butter.
However, you can also make parsley garlic butter ahead of time. Leave the butter out at room temperature so that it becomes soft. Then put the butter, parsley, garlic, and some salt into a food processor. You will end up with delicious green butter. Store this butter in the fridge.

Making Oven Shrimp with Garlic Parsley Butter
Peel and devein shrimp. Mix shrimp with melted butter, finely sliced or grated garlic, chopped parsley, some freshy squeezed lemon, and little salt. Put shrimp in a shallow layer in a baking dish, and bake at 350 deg until shrimp are just barely cooked through (about 7-10 minutes).
Take out shrimp and top with panko breadcrumbs. Broil in oven until breadcrumbs brown (probably 1-3 minutes).



Serving the Shrimp
Serve the shrimp immediately. Garnish with extra parsley and serve with sliced lemon.

- 1 lb shrimp, deshelled and deveined
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 cup parsley, freshly chopped
- 2 whole lemons, zest and juice
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- salt, to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in microwave or on stove top
- Preheat oven to 350 deg. Mix shrimp with salt, garlic, parsley, and melted butter. Put shrimp in a shallow layer in a large flat baking dish. Bake for about ten minutes, until shrimp are just barely cooked.
- Remove from oven, and set oven to broil. Sprinkle a layer of breadcrumbs on top.
- Put back in oven until the top breadcrumb layer is toasted. Serve immediately
